The French-Canadian singer songwriter presents a haunting indie pop version of the Amy Winehouse classic ‘You Know I’m No Good’.
When we’re usually coming across covers of Amy Winehouse, we’re a little sceptical because you can’t really touch Amy. Simply because it’s never quite as it should be. But there’s a bit of an exception with Montreal based singer songwriter Coeur de Pirate, real name Béatrice Martin, who’s stripped You know I’m No Good back to a most wonderful piano ballad.
The track appears on her latest album, Trauma, released yesterday. It’s the soundtrack for the fifth season of the Canadian drama series Trauma. It’s the first release for Martin, since giving birth to her first child, last year.
